The inspiration came one morning, while I was working in the garden: a white butterfly fluttered around me, as if trying to say something. In that moment I felt the need to transform that delicate apparition into an artwork.

White butterflies, in esoteric symbolism, are manifestations of spiritual transformation and messengers of light. They carry with them the mystery of the soul and the memory of those no longer with us, yet who continue to watch over us in silence.
White, the dominant color in this work, represents purity, peace, and connection with the divine. Venetian white gold reflects light, bestowing upon each butterfly an almost ethereal aura, as if about to take flight into another dimension.
This mosaic is a celebration of change, ephemeral beauty, and hope. Each butterfly is a small symbolic portal: inviting us to let go of the past and embrace the mystery of becoming, with lightness and grace.

Each of my mosaics is born from an encounter with the wood: cleaned, brushed, restored, and always protected with an anti-woodworm treatment. Its grain, shapes, colors, and traces of time inspire the subject and guide the composition. The wood does not merely host the mosaic; it becomes an essential part of it, dialoguing with the artwork and completing it with its own story.
