This year, I had the opportunity to work with fine artistic glass—extraordinarily versatile materials that appear in many of my works. The inspiration for the Tiger Fish came while observing some of these glass pieces: their shades reminded me of tiger’s eye, the semi-precious stone known for its warm, shimmering reflections. From that impression, a brand-new fish was born—intense and captivating, just like the material that inspired it.
Each of my mosaics is born from an encounter with the wood: cleaned, brushed, restored, and always protected with an anti-woodworm treatment. Its grain, shapes, colors, and traces of time inspire the subject and guide the composition. The wood does not merely host the mosaic; it becomes an essential part of it, dialoguing with the artwork and completing it with its own story.
Materials: Yellow Italian stone of Nanto, mixed Venetian smalti, beige Venetian gold (24K gold leaf), artistic glass, artistic ceramic, recicled material.
