I created this mosaic, which at first glance may seem abstract, by following the quiet rhythm of the tide. On an old piece of wood, painted white and worn by time, I intertwined stones, Venetian enamels and golds, polished steel and rusted iron, letting them flow in calm, sinuous waves. The light tones, the dominant white, and the soft touches of pale blue ignite a gentle brightness that brings me back, every time I look at it, to a deep sense of serenity. Maree is this for me: a movement of light that envelops and breathes.

Each of my mosaics is born from an encounter with the wood: cleaned, brushed, restored, and always protected with an anti-woodworm treatment. Its grain, shapes, colors, and traces of time inspire the subject and guide the composition. The wood does not merely host the mosaic; it becomes an essential part of it, dialoguing with the artwork and completing it with its own story.
