A small shimmering sardine comes to life through a mosaic of Venetian glass, artistic ceramics and precious white gold applied “upside down” to enhance its play of reflections. Each hand-placed tessera stands out brilliantly against the old wood background in deep lead grey tones, creating a refined and poetic contrast.
A unique piece that blends mosaic tradition with contemporary character

Each of my mosaics is born from an encounter with the wood: cleaned, brushed, restored, and always protected with an anti-woodworm treatment. Its grain, shapes, colors, and traces of time inspire the subject and guide the composition. The wood does not merely host the mosaic; it becomes an essential part of it, dialoguing with the artwork and completing it with its own story.

Materials: Mixed Venetian smalti, white corrugated and upside down Venetian gold (24K gold leaf), Biancone Italian marble, recycled materials, artistic ceramics, porcelain.
