I created two mackerel in mosaic on a traditional plastering tool, preserving its pale grey patina, a quiet trace of work and the passage of time.

I composed the fish using Venetian glass tesserae, white Venetian gold and white Carrara marble, bringing precious materials into dialogue with a humble object marked by its own history.
The result is a delicate work in which light, material and memory converge, transforming a working tool into an unexpected space of beauty.

Each of my mosaics is born from an encounter with the wood: cleaned, brushed, restored, and always protected with an anti-woodworm treatment. Its grain, shapes, colors, and traces of time inspire the subject and guide the composition. The wood does not merely host the mosaic; it becomes an essential part of it, dialoguing with the artwork and completing it with its own story.

Materials: Mixed Venetian smalti, white Venetian gold (24K gold leaf), Italian marble of Carrara.
