This work originates from an old window shutter, a vessel of traces, passages, and memory. From an initial contrast of black and white, the material gradually opens toward light through stones, Venetian enamels, marble, and gold, in a movement that passes through shadow without denying it.

The rusted iron elements that frame and extend beyond the wood become signs of expansion and continuity: nothing remains fixed, everything evolves. The mosaic does not describe a single moment of change, but rather the constant ability to transform, to find light even within fractures, and to recognize life as an ongoing process of renewal, balance, and possibility.

Each of my mosaics is born from an encounter with the wood: cleaned, brushed, restored, and always protected with an anti-woodworm treatment. Its grain, shapes, colors, and traces of time inspire the subject and guide the composition. The wood does not merely host the mosaic; it becomes an essential part of it, dialoguing with the artwork and completing it with its own story.

Materials: Venetian yellow antique gold (24k gold leaf), raku ceramic, mixed Venetian smalti, artistic ceramic, white Italian stone of Nanto, white Italian marble Biancone, recycled material.
