GREEN PENDULUM
Mosaic on wood
Year: 2025
Size: 7×20 cm.
Weight: 0,250 kg.
I created this pendulum using a section of a leg from an old table, a piece of wood that still carries the solidity and quiet memory of its original purpose. I chose to keep the metal tip as well, allowing it to become a distinctive and symbolic detail. The surface is covered with a mosaic made of Venetian enamels in various shades of green, artistic glass, and antiqued yellow Venetian gold. Each tessera is placed by hand, following the natural structure of the wood so that color and material can converse in harmony.
Each of my mosaics is born from an encounter with the wood: cleaned, brushed, restored, and always protected with an anti-woodworm treatment. Its grain, shapes, colors, and traces of time inspire the subject and guide the composition. The wood does not merely host the mosaic; it becomes an essential part of it, dialoguing with the artwork and completing it with its own story.
Materials: Yellow Venetian gold (24K gold leaf), mixed Venetian smalti, artistic glass.
