On an old wooden shutter, still bearing traces of white paint, the antlers of a deer take shape in mosaic, crafted from grey Nanto stone and beige Venetian gold. Chosen for their raw texture and subtle radiance, the materials interact with the timeworn surface, creating a dialogue between memory and matter.

The antlers, a universal symbol of regeneration, strength, and spiritual connection, speak of an eternal cycle of loss and rebirth. They represent resilience, but also an openness to the invisible, the sacred, the intangible.
The contrast between the roughness of the stone and the warm glow of gold creates a quiet balance—turning the surface into a silent presence, rich in meaning.

Each of my mosaics is born from an encounter with the wood: cleaned, brushed, restored, and always protected with an anti-woodworm treatment. Its grain, shapes, colors, and traces of time inspire the subject and guide the composition. The wood does not merely host the mosaic; it becomes an essential part of it, dialoguing with the artwork and completing it with its own story.

Materials: Venetian beige gold (24k gold leaf), gray Italian stone of Nanto, recycled material.
