I was on Red Sea, on holiday on a diving boat. Like every day! That morning, a boat guide accompanied me to snorkel on a reef. Once again, I saw the enchanted world that I have loved and respected so much since I was born. With a disposable camera, I took beautiful pictures. Towards the end of the tour, I notice a boy on the boat making agitated gestures towards a point. I turned around and saw a fantastic creature that was coming towards me at a distance of about 4 meters. It was like seeing an iron war machine aiming for me: Chills. I pressed the camera button and realized that I had finished the roll!
About 2 meters long, this iron-like fish turned a short distance from me and headed out towards the open sea. It was a scary and wonderful experience; that beautiful and majestic creature is still a clear memory today and to which I have given new life with this mosaic.
The mosaic was made using the direct technique on an old wooden board.
Materials: Venetian white corrugated and upside down gold (24k gold leaf), Venetian beige gold (24k gold leaf), mixed Venetian smalti, Brazilian Azul Celeste marble, raku ceramic, molten glass, murrine of Murano, artistic ceramic, recycled material.
