I created this Scorpionfish as a tribute to light, vital energy, and the strength born from color. The mosaic is composed of yellow and orange Venetian smalti, artistic ceramics, and yellow and gold-toned art glass, materials that capture and reflect light, creating an intense, vibrant, almost incandescent surface. Light threads trace the fins like moving strands of illumination, enhancing the sense of warmth and dynamism. The work is set on aged wood that still bears traces of paint and time, a material memory that enters into dialogue with the luminosity of the piece.

The Scorpionfish, elegant yet protective, becomes a symbol of instinct, determination, and inner strength. In this creation, I sought to embody an equilibrium of energy and presence, where light is not merely a visual element but a manifestation of character: a light that affirms, protects, and transforms.

Each of my mosaics is born from an encounter with the wood: cleaned, brushed, restored, and always protected with an anti-woodworm treatment. Its grain, shapes, colors, and traces of time inspire the subject and guide the composition. The wood does not merely host the mosaic; it becomes an essential part of it, dialoguing with the artwork and completing it with its own story.
