The Sacred Heart to wish happiness!
I always liked the symbol of the Sacred Heart. Being a tattoo enthusiast the first time I saw it was revived in this technique. In Mexican culture they are made in a thousand beautiful colors and different shapes with original details. I studied its origin, the symbology in Christianity and the consequent history of the ex voto.
The heart is a universal symbol, present in all cultures and religions, and associated with life and love. It is the engine that moves our body. I want to propose a sacred iconography in a more secular key, as an object of devotion to us and our neighbour, with equal spiritual and emotional power, a good luck charm, a catalyst of positive energy.
The mosaic was made using the direct technique on a wooden panel.
Materials: Venetian beige gold (24K gold leaf), mixed venetian smalti, artistic ceramics.
